Situated between the Vaca Plateau and the Mountain Pine Ridge, visitors are struck by the beauty of this small and easily accessible cave. Used as a source for raw materials, it is believed never to have been occupied by the Maya. Rio Frio Cave and it's 65 foot arched

entryways leave you in awe. Opening at both ends makes flashlights almost unnecessary for viewing the cave's formations during daylight hours. Rio Frio Cave, along with nature trails leading to several smaller caves, is located less

than a mile from the Pine Forest headquarters in Augustine. A stream flows through the cave forming pools and falls. There's also a large beach area surrounded by room size boulders. Everything is big in this cave!. It's a quarter mile through to the exit, another equally impressive opening. We recommend that you do bring a flashlight if you want to go all the way through. On the other side look for a well maintained nature trail which leads to another cave, Cuevas Gemelas. This tour is done in combination with either Caracol Maya Ruins or the Mountain Pine Ridge water fall.

1.) Tours are sold with land accommodations only complete package (packages are consider with 2 night hotel and land arrangements or/and air arrangements)
