HOL CHAN CUT DIVE
THE HOL CHAN CUT The Hol-Chan cut is the keystone site in the Hol-Chan marine reserve. The cut is located four miles from the Tropica Beach Resort or a ten minute boat ride. The waters in the cut starts at four feet, then slopes down to a maximum of thirty feet. The width is about fifty feet with shallow waters on both sides. This site is ideal for mixing divers and snorkelers on the same boat. Because fishing was prohibited sine the park was established about sixteen years ago, it has the most abundance of marine life. There are several eels ranging from four-six feet long. Groupers weighing over forty pounds, huge barracudas and dog snappers, Colorful parrot and angel fishes, and many other schools of fishes. This is also our primary spot for night diving where we encounter all the nocturnal species like shrimp, lobsters, octopuses.
